| meh...it's been awhile since i updated my xanga so i thought maybe it's time to make it look new again...
anyways, yesterday, i went to cheer for one of my friends' singing contest that was held at De Anza (somewhere near SJ, i don't really know where but ya). and yes, there were full of asians. there were 15 participants, mostly taiwanese, a couple HK ppl, and ya. it was pretty cool although it was kinda long and tedious since they told us to get there around 5:30 but the show did not start until 7:30 -_-''' i guess the most remarkable group was this bad that were consist an american drummer, a mixed guitar, taiwanese signer, and a japanese female bass player. the singer was singing a song called "Cage" but i forgot who it was by. i thought they were pretty cool since they consist of different nationalities...and the guy's hair was so tall and springy, hehe. but the sad news is that my friend didn't make it to the second round because of course, we didn't have many ppl go to the contest from davis, while de anza ppl have a lot, so the contest was biased =P and i didn't think the 1st place person should've gotten 1st place...i thought 3rd place sang so much better but then o well...the prize for 1st place was $150 dollars anyway =P
but ya, before we arrived at the contest place, i met this new taiwanese guy who totally looks like ABC. he was pretty cool and easy to talk to. maybe because he's from LA or something, and was living near where i lived so maybe that's why (then again, i don't think that's why). ya, he's rich, TOO DAMN RICH! drives a Mercedes-Benz CLS (dunno the specific model). his parents are both doctors and are from a rich family. kinda jealous but then he's not snobbish. and he's in the type of the family where their parents change cars every four years, like the from mercedes to the newer model of mercedes or BMW. and of course, he got that mercedes CLS for his b-day -_-'''' from his mom. basically, he has too much money to spent and he's not afraid to spend them =P. when we went shopping, he spent $160~ for a D&G sunglasses that he wanted to buy. almost spent $280 on a Guess jacket (until we stopped him since he thought that if that jacket's third digit starts with a 1, then he'll buy it), and $50 on a Sephora clone (all happened in 15 min.). meh...why does he get a mercedes while i get a cake? o.O but then again, i'm still very happy about my cake XD
and lately, i've been TRYING to work, like get my bus training done. however, i feel that i don't think i'll be able to complete it until august since my trainer is practically ignoring me since he's "sooo" busy that he can't even return a call...god, what a responsible trainer and the funny thing is, he holds 3 different positions in the Unitrans (the bus company i'm working for). or maybe just that i'm not significant comparing to other business he has...get irritated and ready to yell at him if he makes another wrong move.
hmmm, i get out of class on 14th and am going back to taiwan on 21st. kinda sad but hopefully this time everything will be better in taiwan since some of the taiwanese club ppl are going back and hopefully we can hang out in taiwan and instead of me wondering around taiwan by myself. that was QUITE lonely. i'll be back around august 21st. so i'll still have a month of vacation in US until school starts. that is when i'll go show off at UCB apartment and tell them "suckers, i don't have school!" who told them to get out so early =P
man, i hate cingular, they took out the 19.99 and 29.99 regeional plan and now i can't downgrade for my trip to taiwan since i won't be using my cellphone. instead of having those two plans, they decided to have a "Pay per Use" plan where you practically pay for how much you talk for some cents per min. and here i thought, "wow, that would be perfect! since i won't use it for nearly two months so i don't have to pay anything!" but then you know what? "i'm sorry sir, you can't change your plan since it breaks the contract and there is a $150 fee if break the contract" what bitches...i hate cellphone companies...T-mobile, cingular...they're all the same!!! they're there to jack your money!!
well, i'm going to be living by myself next yr and it's gonna be great! although most of the ppl think that i'll probably be lonely but hey, at least i get to have a clean apartment and i think it's worth it. plus, who said that i can't go out and hang out =P although i did want to adopt a kitty for next year (since 99.99% of the apt's in davis don't allow dogs T.T) but who knew, my apartment complex (which is in UCD campus, right next to one of the dorm buildings: Segundo) uses both apartment and dorm rules. so the only pet i'm allowed to have is fishes and a tank that's no bigger than 50 gallon...i mean why would i want to get a fish...it's not like you can play with them....i guess i'll go adopt a neo pet or something (hahaha..... T.T)
anyways, that's all i can think of for now...hopefully i can think of stuff more often and update it more XD

| whee~ went to UCB-UCD taiwanese club joint event last saturday at berkeley marina (dun ask me why they chose that place...that place is just like a BIG park). i can't say i met a lot of ppl from UCB but i did meet a couple individuals that are from UCB. lol, i forgot who told me this but somebody said that UCB girls are much better than UCD girls (asians) at clothing style and looks. after seeing a few of them, my conclusion is: "yea, it's true, damn..." lol, not that i'm gonna do anything about it but just throwing a fact out at you ppl who wondered about that. anyways, we had a bbq, group activities, and photo scavenger hunt. those were all fun, although group activity weren't as exciting since we played "king" game (i dunno what they call in english, bascially pick two ppl and they have to do certain thing depending on third person's decision, and we played the "innocent" version and not the perverted ones that we play after we get drunk >.>) ppl didn't really participated...probably because we don't know each other well. but i did get my friend kiss another girl on the cheek ^^ and he's the "super loyal to his gf" type of guy, so i thought i had a blast doing that. although in the end, i had to tie my hand to another girl's hand and run across the lawn and say "i love you" and hug another girl -_-''' and funny thing is that girl's the one that loves jay chow like crazy! (and i look like jay chow, supposely...her friends were telling her, "wow, u're dream came true!!" but her being a loyal fan to jay, she denied it) o well, not like it matters to me =P
anyways, after the joint-event, half of the davis group broke off to eat pasta at union square which cost like 20 bucks per person. ppl in my car (alice, will, amanda, wei-xing), being poor, decided to eat somewhere else that's cheap. i was going to bring them to eat at Mugal (the place that rai brought me when i went to their apartment that sells indian cuisine for cheap) but amanda had health issues (pretty serious) so we had to drive her back to davis to get her medicine. but then, because of that, i got to know more girls! (yay!) during dinner at "Pasta?" (a restaurant in davis), my friend introduced me to wei-xing who needed a ride to davis from berkeley. she's pretty nice although she was kinda cold towards me when we met for the first time. but later on i found out she has a habit of drinking and she can drink a lot (i think she can drink like 20+ shots and still able to drink more =/). and i was like "wow!" i don't know why but girls that can drink AND compete with guys makes me like i need to make friends with them. dunno why but it just does, i think they're cool =P anyways, we went to her apartment and had a couple drinks with wei-xing and will before i met her two other female roommates (sophie and forgot the other one's name). one girl is an anime/manga lover (sophie) and another one is i dun really know...since i didn't get to talk to her much, but she's also taking the same stat class as me. i talked mostly to the sophie since they had ps2 and i was playing naruto game while waiting for alice and will to return from alice's house (they had to change the car). talked to her mainly about games and anime, but it was alright, at least i got to know more ppl. then alice and will came back, played a bit more naruto and a bit more chatting, then we decided to go to a b-day party. the b-day boy was actually one of the staff member for the club so most ppl i know showed up. we sang kareoke (that b-day boy is really good with browsing and stuff so he has like 300+ music videos (KTV/MTV)...i swear to god he can run a mini karaoke store in his room with his comp.) we had a lot of fun and i felt that i got to know them more =D yay!
yup...fun stuff, and now i have to study for finals -_-'''...next thursday is my first final, sigh....how horrible...o well, good luck with ya'll who's on quarter system! time to complete my last hw assignment for the quarter! YAY!
| sigh...things just aren't working out for me recently....it all started 3 days ago when my apartment complex lost our internet due to technical difficulties with comcast...after internet came back...everything was fine except ffxi...for some odd reason, ffxi server will d/c me every 3 min. this has never happened before so i thought maybe it's the router's problem (since rich and sean had similiar problem with their old router)....and attempted to fix the problem, i turned off and on the router and those methods did not help. so i started to mess with router's settings...and nope, that didn't help either. and somehow messing with router's setting ended up making my ethernet card malfunctioning...which is like "WTF, how did that happen!? all i did was add port # in the Forwarding/Triggering" part!!!" then i lost internet for 2 days. i thought to myself, "hm, maybe my network card is fried..." i took my roommate's unused wireless card and thought that maybe that will help. and nope, although installation was successful, something still went wrong with the wireless connection. it d/c me from internet and restarts my computer whenever it loads wireless settings in the beginning when u first turn on your comp. and just about 5 min. ago, i killed my apartment's network system (or i think i did)...so i decided to remove that stupid wireless card and remove everything that's related to it from my computer and plugged back in my old ethernet card...and now i'm back to my old problem...i got my internet back, but not ffxi...sigh, it's like a chunk of my life got taken out....
not only my entertainment life is in ruin...my academic life as well. first of all, i have to say, " I HATE STATISTICS! !@#$" honestly, calculus BC is way easier than that stupid stat. although the teacher gives us open book/notes exams, i can't seem to do well in them. i got a 90 on the first one, got a 77 on the second one due to careless mistake (could've gotten 97, but nooo! i had to make two retarded mistakes) and i just took my third one this morning, and trust me, i think i got lower than a 77. and the teacher allows us to drop one of the score...everything thinks that, "hey, it's an easy A for that class since all exams are open book/notes" and btw, did i mention my teacher isn't doing his job? he can't answer hw questions and he just uses the excuse "don't worry, test questions won't be this hard, you don't have to know this" i mean, gosh, i believe that even the TA knows more than the teacher! sigh.....the grades for classes i'm taking right now except japanese are going straight downhill...i think the reason why i do so well in jpn is because i'm borrowing sean's textbook. no wonder he's so good with school, even his books have magical powers...maybe i should ask him to buy my textbooks from now on and borrow them from him -_-''' that ought to help a little bit...
anyways...i guess i just had to really get those things out...maybe i'll feel better now....sigh*
| bah...so much for updating the next day...anyways, since ski trip for taiwanese club is such old news...but i feel bad if i don't complete my story (i dun care if u guys want to hear about it or not!!!) i'm going to finish it...if i can still remember, honestly, i think i forgot most of the stuff...but here goes:
so on 3rd day, we didn't do much and since most of the ppl were sore from snowboarding/skiing the day before (most of are noobs at these two sports, so they fell like crazy, some ppl even got ran over by other members with their boards), we slept it and about maybe afternoon, TCSS took us to nearby shopping mall and we had two choices..either go to a lake (forgot what it's called) and sightseeing or shop at that tiny shopping mall. most of us decided to go sightseeing...although when we got there, there was just a beach and snow was as high as a chair as MHS lunch table. so we ended up playing snowfight, took pix, and etc...(u know, those things that everyone does when they go sightseeing with snow)...after that, we went up to snow sliding area and slide down the ramp...i didn't do it 'cuz it didn't really look that fun too me -_-''' and we get to throw more snowballs at ppl when they've reached the bottom of the hill. we went back since it was dark and around 2/3 of the ppl were getting ready to leave since most of them still have either hw or midterms to study for. i was gonna go home too but i decided to stay at last minute. after those ppl left, we went to reno and circus circus (yes i went there twice)...and this time, i won THE DOG stuffed animal and one bear stuffed animal. lol, i really wanted that THE DOG stuffed animal!!! so it was a good trip. then on the way back home. however, on the way home, when we were driving in local, our driver decided to "speed things up just for a little bit" and the funny thing is...right after he stepped on the gas pedal...he had to stop...'cuz a cop was right behind us and since it was dark, we couldn't recognize it and he had his siren (lights) inside his SUV instead of on top of his roof...so we got pulled over (ppl in the back quickly put on seat belt ever since rich's cousin was fined for not putting on seatbelt after their driver got pulled over for speeding) and our driver was really nervous because a couple months ago, he got a ticket...so now he's gonna have two red dots on his DL...and the worst thing is, that car is not under his name. the girl next to him (the VP) was the person rented that car but she didn't feel like driving so he drove instead...but thank god that she forgot to bring the forum since the cop could not identify who's the "owner" of the car...and VP came up with a plan of her acting sick and we had to go home to get her medicine ASAP...funny thing is...although the cop said that "it's not good enough reason for you to speed" in the beginning, in the end, he let us go free...(why only girls get this kind of benefit...) NOTE: don't not attempt this strategy when there are only guys in the car, this plan WILL NOT work!...then we got home =D and VP told us a story about this girl who got pulled over and decided to move a little bit forward but instead backed up into the cop's car. that girl was so nervous and started crying and shaking and couldn't talk to the cop, so the cop ended up comforting her by saying "it's OK! don't worry, no problem" and stuff and let her go free...(she was speeing btw, amazing, huh?) anyways, we got home, since not so many ppl left, we decided to drink and play games. and that's when i got to know most of them and i had a lot of fun...now that most of the ppl recognize me =D then after we done drinking i went to get some jacuzzi action and it was nice...jacuzzi in winter with snow around! there were 3 guys and 2 girls, but we didn't do anything bad since i have a gf and the two girls have bf's already =) we just talked and enjoyed the hot water...then i took a shower and went to sleep. next morning we packed and left the house and ate at a japanese store (ordered a $100 sushi boat and udon) with 7 ppl at my table and then went home afterwards.
overall the trip was fun and nice. got to see "fighting," met a few new ppl, and got to know ppl better. i guess it was worth the time and money that i put in to the trip. although probably there won't be TCSS anymore next year since not many ppl want to be officers because of time management and etc reasons.
o well, enough old stuff! recently i started playing ffxi again, i dunno if that's a good thing or not because i had good grades this quarter before i started, and now my grades are slipping down...not that i can blame ffxi for it because the mistakes that i made are stupid ones or i was too lazy to find the answers to some of the problems...so i guess it's really my fault =/ don't blame ffxi!!! i went back home last weekend for one day and hung out with jenni that day...i have to say...i didn't get her a gift for valentine's day and i feel kinda bad, i wanted to get accessories but none of them at davis look good =/ i wanted to make chocolate but things didn't work out...haha...my bad on my side >.<''' sorry! but i'll make it up to jenni on chinese valentine's day =D i guess that's the only way to redeem myself at this situation! i think i'll continue my search for goods until that day comes. hmm...i guess this is about it, i dunno what to write anymore =/ recently been busy with school, ffxi, and gf (lol...) then ya...those are pretty much the things that filled up my recent days...wanted to go to MayDay concert (a taiwanese band) @ San Jose last sunday but jenni couldn't stay over night so i decided not to go, otherwise i would've lived at james's place =P
gah! Management midterm tomorrow! have to study more -_-'''
peace~ (hopefully this entry isn't too long, i've been try to reduce the amount >.<''' sorry~!)
| wow, it's been a long time since i updated my xanga...and to think that my original goal was to update it at least once every weekly but now it seems like i'm updating it every month... -_-'''
anyways, last weekend, i went to tahoe (4 days 3 nights) with taiwanese club ppl and it was definetly worth the time and money! (although i practically had to work my butt off the night that i came back for hw T.T) i left around 4 PM on friday and it was really foggy on the way there, we couldn't see farther than 2 feet from our car and the traffic was horrible, so after about 4 hrs of driving and stoping by McD, we finally got there. We didn't do much the first night, we had a group activity that basically "forces" ppl to introduce themselves to each other so we can get to know ppl better. it wasn't really that fun but i guess we still had a couple laughs since ppl were crackin' jokes and tried to be funny. after the groupl activity, we disbanded because the next day they were going skiing (i didn't want to go 'cuz i thought it will be boring...snowboarding is a pretty solitary sport). then i was assigned to a 14 ppl room to sleep, but there wasn't even space to walk around so i decided to sleep upstairs where officers slept (which was surprisingly spacious -___-) however most of the ppl have never ski/snowboard before so most of the ppl were excited and didn't want to sleep. we went out to the jacuzzi area to play snow fight. it was really fun since i get to beat ppl with snow and during the fight, i got to know these 7 hk exchange students. supposely one of them is jenni's friend's cousin/sister (i forgot which one) since she called me last night and told me about her. 5 were females and 2 were males. and the funny yet kinda annoying thing was, those 5 females thought i look like jay chow and start calling me jay...and when i asked them what's my name and they're like "...i dunno"... anyhow later that night i played uno with them and got to know them better. then we went to bed 'cuz it was 4 in the morning.
saturday morning around 7 AM, everyone except 5 ppl left for ski/snowboarding (which included me). we slept until 10 PM and we couldn't sleep anymore. i started playing soul caliber II with this high school girl (which is a gf of a ucd student) while one of the tc staff was watching us. then we got kinda bored of fighting games and decided to play Fatal Frame II (for those ppl who don't know this game, it's the ghost game where u have a camera and take pix of ghosts to exorcise them)...the girl played for about 30 sec. and threw away the controller and asked me to play since she's too scared...and all she did was walked around outside and haven't even entered the house yet (the whole story revolves around this house which is haunted)...and the tc staff didn't even want to play because supposely him and his friends played the game at night and all of them got scared and threw the controller away...so now he's "traumatized"...it was kinda scary, but since i had experience with Fatal Frame I, i found it okay...althogh i still wouldn't play the game at night 'cuz it's too damn creepy with lights off...so we played for a while...and it was time for us to get out of the house because the only person with a key is supposed to clear everyone out of the house and keep the doors locked so no one could steal anything (last year, two ppl lost a jacket and $40). since i didn't know anyone and they didn't provide lunch, i had to stick with that high school girl (her name is Grace) and her bf (Keiko), and two other ppl Alan & Pow Pow (her nickname...i still don't know her real name). we went to atlantis (a casino/hotel) for buffet (cost around $24 for lunch). on the way there, the scenery was really pretty and they took a lot of pix (since i don't have a camera...i couldn't capture anything..) and the ride was fun because we were all making jokes so the atmosphere was really "happy"! after we arrive at the buffet place, the restaurant doesn't open for another hour, so we seperated into two groups: Keiko/Grace & PowPow/Alan...i didn't want to go with Keiko and Grace because i didn't want to be a lightbulb so i hung out with PowPow/Alan. i went gambling for the first time (slot machine) but i lost $3 in the end...i won some but lost them all ~.~'''. i found slot machines boring because u just sit there and press the button all day long...i wanted to play hold'em but it requires an ID check to exchange money for chips...i was disappointed but o well...then we went to eat buffet and thank god we arrive there early because the line was REALLY REALLY long after about 30 min.. although the buffet was kinda expensive but it's really really nice and delicious. the funny thing is that PowPow is a girl that's kinda skinny yet she eats the most out of everyone in TC (i think she eats around the same amount as richard or might be even more than rich...and i'm not even jk'n). after lunch we drove to reno and went to circus circus. i played the horse racing with grace and keiko but i lost twice...while both of them played 3 times and keiko finally won at his third time. then we went to watch the motorcyclist show (who drove a motorcycle in a sphere...driving up and down)...then i got bored and decided to go play something else...i went around and saw The Dog stuffed animal and i really wanted to get it, so i spent around 7 dollars (2 balls per $1)playing the "toss the ball (the ball with holes that baseball team practices with) into the straw basket (which was placed at 45 degrees and had a convex bottom)...The Dog required 4 wins but i failed the to get it except once...(sigh*) then after wondering around and played a few other games, we finally meet up with each other. apparently Alan won a huge bear from "toss the ring to the coke bottles" game with just $1...that thing is like friggin' impossible but he got it with his first dollar! and then we played "toss the ball into the milk can"...keiko spent around 8 dollars and finally got it in. it was fun and we went back to the house around 9 PM. that night they were partying downstairs...too bad i was too tired to party with them so i slept for a bit. but i couldn't sleep anymore around 2 AM because the floor was too cold and too hard and they made my injured shoulder (from hurdles) hurt really bad...so i went downstairs and watch them play. HK students and a few other taiwanese ppl were playing "spin the bottle" game...this one HK student was so unlucky that he got his belly licked, ear licked, and kissed on the cheek by 3 different guys in a roll...i don't think he really enjoyed the game...after about an hr or so, one taiwanese person named Dean wanted to make a bet with Chris (another taiwanese guy) that if Dean can do 15 one handed push ups, Chris will have to drink about 1/8 of a bottle of tequila. then Chris started saying that one handed push up may vary between ppl due to positions of the two legs, so he wanted to bet that who can do more push ups in 15 min. and then they start debating which to do and finally Chris said that he's a whimp and he doesn't want to do it anymore since they're not reaching a conclusion...then Dead got mad and tossed the bottle against the fireplace and it got shattered (i was sitting close to the fire place so i was splashed by glass and tequila...) and wanted to fight Chris. Chris's brother stepped in and said that everyone is out here to have fun so don't be like that. then Dean got really upset and tried to punch him, although ppl tried to stop him but he still kinda "knocked" on Chris's bro's head. (TC president's glasses took the impact and broke in half and PowPow got kicked 'cuz she was sitting next to chris's bro)...then Chris and everyone else were sent to bed just so there won't be anymore fighting...and Dean wanted to trash Chris's Honda civic but it was saved by telling Dean that it's someone else's car. Dean's from a taiwan gang so TC ppl told Chris and his bro. to be careful just because they might get "batted." then Chris and his bro left next morning.
okok..this is enough for one entry...i'll continue tomorrow...i still have to study for my stat. midterm tomorrow -_-'''
